Lamar Stevens' Emotional Penn State Commitment

The four-star forward from Philly vowed to make his family proud by "blazing my own path" with the Nittany Lions.

PHILADELPHIA — Roman Catholic four-star forward Lamar Stevens didn't simply commit to Penn State during a press conference at his school Friday. In a short speech packed with emotion, he thanked the people who helped him get to where he is today.

He also thanked his family for teaching him to follow his dreams and blaze his own path. And he vowed, "Next year, at Penn State University, I promise that I'll make you proud."

Check out his entire commitment speech, filmed by FOS photographer Harvey Levine, above.

The speech finished with a hug for his mom (below).
