LB Bell Is Back For Penn State

After not suiting up again Buffalo with what appeared to be an ankle injury, Penn State's starting Sam linebacker is back for Rutgers.

Penn State's injury-ravaged linebacker corps is getting healthier for Saturday night's Big Ten opener vs. Rutgers. PSU announced minutes ago that Brandon Bell is back as the starting Sam ’backer.

Bell appeared to sustain a right ankle injury that knocked him out of the season-opener vs. Temple, and he did not dress for last week's win over Buffalo. He was replaced by former walk-on Von Walker against the Bulls.

But Bell, a 6-foot-1, 231-pounder who is PSU's best coverage linebacker, is back working with the first team now.

CB Grant Haley will also make his first start of the season after missing the first two games with an undisclosed injury.
