Fireworks Start Early For Penn State-Rutgers

Nittany Lion fans were treated to pregame fireworks shot off the top of Beaver Stadium's scoreboards as James Franklin's team took the field for the Big Ten opener.

On his Thursday night radio show, Penn State coach James Franklin warned that "the township" might not like some of the things being done to energize the Beaver Stadium atmosphere for Saturday night's game vs. Rutgers.

We found out what he meant when the Nittany Lions took the field. As they ran on, fireworks shot off the top of the scoreboards.

While such pyrotechnics are common at NFL and other college facilities, this is the first time fireworks were shot off from Beaver Stadium itself.
