Penn State RB Saquon Barkley named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

Penn State running back Saquon Barkley was honored by the Big Ten as Freshman of the Week.

For the second week in a row, Nittany Lion running back Barkley has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week. This time, the rookie back was honored for his monster performance against the Rutgers Scarlett Knights on a national primetime stage. Barkley rolled up 195 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns.

On the season, so far his yards per carry mark of 9.15 rank second among FBS players.

Barkley was thanked last week by Penn State fans for his 115 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries against Buffalo. Barkley is once again a candidate for the FOS Player of the Rutgers Game.
