Soggy, Cold Conditions For Penn State-Army

The weather for the Nittany Lions' game with the Black Knights turned out to be as bad as everyone expected.

When Penn State coach James Franklin enters Beaver Stadium for a game, he immediately heads through the tunnel and makes a lap around the field.

Such was the case Saturday morning, before a noon kick with Army. And by the time Franklin was finished making the lap — dressed in a suit — he was thoroughly soaked.

The weather for the game has turned out to be as bad as everyone expected, with steady rain and — as of 10:30 a.m. — temperature in the low 40s. The tarp came off the field around 9:30 a.m., and the field appears to be OK so far.

However, traffic was light coming into the stadium for a game that is supposed to be a sellout. The parking lots had loads of empty spots as of this writing.
