Penn State's Franklin Has "Positive" Press Conference Outburst

The Nittany Lion coach said he was staying upbeat following a closer-than-many-expected win over Army "even if it kills (the media) and you want me to be negative."

Penn State was a 24-point favorite to beat Army at Beaver Stadium Saturday, and yet the Nittany Lions failed to even score 24 points in the game. They won 20-14, as fans on message boards and social media expressed frustration over the lackluster play (especially of the offense).

After the game, PSU coach James Franklin was asked what he would say to such fans. He became fired up when insisting he'll never be anything but positive at press conferences.
