Penn State fans thanked junior quarterback Christian Hackenberg for his impressive home performance in Beaver Stadium against Illinois. Hackenberg was instrumental in the Nittany Lion shutout victory, completing 21 of 29 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns and grabbong one touchdown catch for 14 yards.
Hackenberg reviewed the PSU performance, arguably the most complete of the 2015 for his offensive unit, saying, “I think it’s one of those things where it’s not so much pressure on one guy to make a play or play outside themselves."
Hackenberg not had a strong performance in the game against the Illini, but also with the Nittany Nation vote, grabbing 69 percent of the fan ballots. This was his second FOS Player of the Game honor this season. Previously he was honored for his Indiana preformance.
