EVANSTON, Ill. — Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg was not on top of his game in the Nittany Lions' 23-21 loss to Northwestern here Saturday.

He hit on only 21 of 40 passes for 205 yards and did not tally a touchdown pass. He was also intercepted, seeing a streak of 203 passes without a pick snapped.
