Nassib a Burlsworth Trophy Candidate

Penn State DE, Carl Nassib, a candidate for the Burlsworth Trophy, given to college football's most outstanding players who started their career as a walk-on.

Already a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award and Lombardi Trophy, Penn State defensive end Carl Nassib has unsurprisingly been named as a candidate for the Burlsworth Trophy. The Burlsworth is awarded to college football's most outstanding player who started their career as a walk-on.

Nassib broke Penn State's single-season sack record with 15.5 on the year and has grabbed 19.5 tackles for loss. He has also been invited to the Senior Bowl.

In the award's five-year history one Nittany Lion has previosuly been honored with it, quarterback Matt McGloin in 2012.
