Penn State Hockey Advances to No. 16

After a two-game sweep of Michigan State, Penn State men's hockey advances up the polls to No. 16.

Coming off a sweep of Michigan State, where Penn State outscored the Spartans 10-3 over the span of two games, the Nittany Lions' men's hockey squad advanced to No. 16 in the USCHO.com poll after maintaining a spot in the rankings the previous two weeks. PSU is currently the No. 2 Big Ten team in the poll.

The squad is also ranked No. 12 in the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI).

This mark's Penn State's highest ranking as a division I team. It is also the first time PSU has maintained a poll position or three consecutive weeks.

Currently, the squad is 10-2-3 (2-0-0 Big Ten). The Lions have outscored opponents 30-9 in their last six victories.

Penn State next faces Princeton on Friday, December 11 at home.
