All-American Nods for Nassib

Carl Nassib is selected to several All-American teams for his outstanding 2015 season.

When USA Today's All-American team was named many across the Nittany Nation were puzzled as to how the nation's sack leader was relegated to the paper's second team. This became even more of a head-scratcher when Carl Nassib was honored as the Lombardi Trophy winner, which goes to the nation's best lineman (on both sides of the ball) or linebacker.

Nassib has also been honored with the Ted Hendricks Award as the nation's best defensive end and the Lott IMPACT Award for the defensive player who made the largest impact on their team.

Since then, more All-American lists have come out which have appropriately named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year to their first team squads. Here are Nassib's All-American selections thus far:

Associated Press - first team DE

CBS Sports - first team DE

ESPN - first team DE

Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) - first team DE

Sports Illustrated - first team DE

Walter Camp - first team DE

USA Today - second team DE

More All-American teams are slated to be announced in the coming days, including:

Tuesday, Dec. 15: The Sporting News

Wednesday, Dec. 16: American Football Coaches Association (AFCA)

Thursday, Dec. 17: Consensus Team (from the NCAA)
