Penn State Fans Name Barkley Offensive MVP

Penn State fans honor freshman running back Saquon Barkley for his 2015 impact on the Nittany Lions.

The impact Saquon Barkley has on Penn State is clear across Nittany Nation. For his first year efforts, PSU fans voted the freshman running back their offensive MVP for the 2015 season.

On the year Barkely rolled up 1,007 yards (6.1 YPC), setting the Penn State freshman record, on 165 carries with seven touchdowns on the ground. He also pulled in 15 catches for 148 yards (9.9 YPC) and another score.

Barkley ran away with the PSU fan vote, grabbing 77 percent of the ballots, beating out junior quarterback Christian Hackenberg who ended up with 17 percent and sophomore wideout Chris Godwin how had six percent.

On the year, Barkley was named FOS Player of the Game against Buffalo, Rutgers, Ohio State and Northwestern. He was also named BTN.com's Freshman of the Year and named All-Freshman teams for BTN.com and USA Today.
