To say Carl Nassib had a storybook ending to his Penn State career would be an understatement. As a junior, the former walk-on, grabbed seven tackles with one sack, 3.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble and a pass breakup. A year later he posted 6.5 times more tackles with 46 (31 solo) and not only lead the nation in sacks with 15.5, but also broke Penn State's sack record.
Aside from these numbers he also had 19.5 tackles for loss, one interception, one pass breakup and six forced fumbles. He was a wrecking ball for the Nittany Lion's defense and for that Penn State fans voted him their defensive MVP for the 2015 season.
Nassib ended up with 82 percent of the vote, with Austin Johnson coming in second with nine percent.
This is just the latest in a long list of post-season honors for Nassib, including:
The Hendricks Trophy (nation's top defensive end)
Lombardi Trophy (nation's top lineman)
Lott IMPACT Award (most significant defensive player to his team)
Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year
