Carl Nassib was already named the Big Ten's Defensive Player of the Year, the nation's top defensive end with the Hendrick's Award, the nation's top lineman with the Lombardi Trophy, the most signficant defensive player to his tam with the Lott IMPACT Award and a consensus All-American. Now, the senior has been honored by Nittany Nation fans as Penn State's 2015 overall Most Valuable Player.
Previously, he was honored by fans as the FOS Defensive MVP for this past season, which had him face off against the FOS Offensive MVP, freshman running back Saquon Barkley. Nassib tackled 62 percent of the fan vote.
On the year he had 46 tackles (31 solo) and not only lead the nation in sacks with 15.5, but also broke Penn State's sack record. Aside from these numbers he also had 19.5 tackles for loss, one interception, one pass breakup and six forced fumbles.
Nassib, along with teammate, safety Jordan Lucas, have accepted invitations to play in the Senior Bowl on Jan. 30 in Mobile, Ala.
