Penn State Punter Commit Gillikin Not Going Anywhere

Nittany Lion coach James Franklin stopped by to see the Atlanta prospect, who says he is rock solid with PSU.

Four-star punter commit Blake Gillikin is an important piece of Penn State’s recruiting class. Thursday, the Nittany Lion staff made sure the standout from The Westminster Schools in Atlanta knew just how much he was wanted.

Head coach James Franklin, special teams coach Charles Huff and special teams recruiting assistant Sam Williams spent most of the day in Atlanta.

“Always great to see those guys,” Gillikin said.

But the Nittany Lions did not have to worry about the punter looking elsewhere.

"Georgia and Georgia Tech have been hitting me up,” Gillikin said. “Both coaching staffs are gauging my interest in their respective programs. But I've told them I'm 100 percent committed to Penn State."

How committed?

"I'm only taking one of my official visits,” Gillikin said. “I'll be visiting Penn State Jan. 22."
