Winter Storm Puts Ferns' Penn State Visit On Ice

Will the Ohio LB and the Nittany Lion staff be able to reschedule before National Signing Day?

Four-star outside linebacker Brendan Ferns was slated to visit Penn State this weekend. But Mother Nature had other ideas.

The snowstorm that is pelting the East Coast prevented the St. Clairsville (Ohio) High senior standout from making his official visit to Happy Valley this weekend.

His father, Mike, said the family is working with the Nittany Lion staff to set another trip before National Signing Day (Feb. 3).

“Brendan spoke with Penn State defensive coordinator and linebacker coach (Brent) Pry (Friday) night,” the elder Ferns said. “I assume we will reschedule a visit, but at this moment we're not sure when the visit will be.”

The tricky part is that Ferns is slated to visit West Virginia next weekend. His older brother plays for the Mountaineers.

WVU and PSU are the two finalist for the 6-foot-3, 225-pounder.

If Ferns still visits Morgantown next weekend, that would mean any pre-NSD visit to University Park would have to happen during the week.
