Penn State's late push on Baltimore Dunbar receiver Dae'lun Darien paid off when the former Temple commit flpped his pledge to the Nittany Lions. Darien visited Happy Valley over the weeknd and announced for PSU via Twitter Monday morniing.
At 6-foot-4, 202 pounds, Darien fits the mold of the larger receivers James Franklin and company have been recruiting in recent years. He committed to Temple in November.
But Penn State offered this month. And according to Dunbar assistat Rashidi Scott, that caused Darien to take a hard look at the Nittany Lions.
"It's definitely a tough decision once you pick up a Big Ten offer," Scott said. "I think the Big Ten is a powerhouse conference, an elite conference. I believe its a system of where you're going to fit in and be able to fit with your agenda at the end of the day. Picking up a Big Ten offer right before signing day, you have to respect that."
Darien is expectmed to be the only receiver in PSU's Class of 2016.
