Five Nittany Lions Invited To NFL Combine

Who will be in Indianapolis to test for NFL scouts and who was left out? We have the latest right here.

Penn State will be well represented at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis Feb. 23-29. Five former Nittany Lions are scheduled to participate in the event.

Included on the list are quarterback Christian Hackenberg and defensive tackle Austin Johnson, juniors who declared early for the NFL Draft.

Lombardi Award-winning defensive end Carl Nassib, a consensus All-American, will also be in Indy. A third PSU defensive lineman, tackle Anthony Zettel, has received an invitation, too.

Safety Jordan Lucas is slated to participate at the Combine. But it should be noted that Lucas missed the last three games of the 2015 season and then had to pull out of last month’s Senior Bowl due to a shoulder injury that reportedly required surgery.

Left out of the Combine were tight end Kyle Carter, a one-time All-Big Ten pick, and cornerback Trevor Williams. But they’ll have a chance to impress NFL scouts at Penn State’s Pro Day, the date for which has yet to be officially set.
