QB Commit Clifford Still Crazy About Penn State

The Cincinnati native said he’d be "insane" to entertain other offers, even from the home state Buckeyes.

Penn State Class of 2017 four-star quarterback commit Sean Clifford admits he is still hearing from Ohio State.

With Clifford hailing from Cincinnati, some folks are wondering if there is a chance he will flip to the Buckeyes should they offer. So Clifford, who became the first member of PSU’s Class of 2017 when he committed last July, wants to set the record straight.

“I am not wavering in my commitment to Penn State,” Clifford said. “In fact, the conversations I have had with Ohio State have been short, I would like to make that clear."

Would his recruitment change if the Buckeyes offer?

“It would be insane for me to flip my commitment to OSU even they offered,” Clifford said. “I am 100 percent committed to Penn State. I am excited to visit Feb. 27 (for Junior Day) and continue to make the 2017 class for Penn State the best it can possibly be.”

The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder understands that scuttlebutt among fans is part of the recruiting game. But he added there is nothing to any of it in this instance.

"There is no reason to believe any rumors of me and OSU,” he said.
