Young PA Defensive Back "Loves Everything About" Penn State

We caught up with Class of 2018 DB Isheem Young at The Opening New Jersey to ask about the Nittany Lions and more.

When Class of 2018 DB Isheem Young uses the abbreviated term "pub," it is not in the way most people might.

Yes, the junior-to-be from Imhotep Charter in Philadelphia is generating plenty of publicity on the recruiting front, with offers flowing in from powerhouses like Penn State, Florida State, Michigan and Michigan State. But when he talks about "pub," he is referring to the Philadelphia Public League and his main goal for the 2016 season.

"I want the lead the Pub in interceptions,” he said at The Opening New Jersey last weekend. "The city, the state (too)."

We caught up with Young just before camp started to ask about what — and who — he likes when it comes to Penn State, his timeline for making a college choice and more. Check it out.

PRONOUNCE IT: Young said his first name is pronounced "Ah-sheem."

PENN STATE LINK: Imhotep outside linebacker Shaka Toney signed with the Nittany Lions in February. "He's always telling me, 'Penn State, boy,' every time he sees me,’ Young said with a smile.
