Penn State five-star Class of 2018 defensive end commitment Micah Parsons entered last Sunday’s New Jersey regional of The Opening hoping to land an invite to the national competition in Oregon in July.
Though he was named defensive line MVP, Parsons was not awarded with a trip to THE Opening. While that still may come, for the time being he’ll have to hang his hat on the fact that he dominated a host of Class of 2017 offensive linemen — including PSU commit Rob Martin.
At 6-foot-3, 235 pounds, he was simply too quick and strong for everyone they put in front of him. Don’t believe us? Check out these clips.
To say he lived up to his motto of "dominate or be dominated" is an understatement. As Parsons was receiving his D-line MVP medal, an offensive lineman who struggled to block him earlier said, "Holy (bleep), he's only a sophomore?"
Between pre-camp testing and the camp itself, we had a chance to interview Parsons. And let’s just say he seemed to have as much fun doing the Q&A as he did while competing on the field.
In the video above, you’ll get a feel for Parsons’ outgoing personality, which includes him messing with PSU Class of 2017 DE commit Yetur Matos.
