2018 WR Spalding Now In Play For Nittany Lions

The Virginia receiver does not yet hold a Penn State offer. But mutual interest is developing.

Penn State is showing early interest in Virginia Class of 2018 receiver Dillon Spalding. The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder already holds offers from Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt and Tennessee, and he likes the vibe he is getting from the Nittany Lions.

“Coach (Josh) Gattis contacted my coach telling him that they love my film,” Spalding said. “I've been getting mail from PSU, also."

He hopes to learn more about the Nittany Lions soon.

"I would really like to visit PSU this summer if given the opportunity," he said.

Other schools that have been checking him out include Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State, Clemson and North Carolina State.

Spalding said he isn't sure who else he'll visit this summer. He has no favorites and wants to make his college decision sometime after his junior season.

Loney’s Take: Spalding is very much interested in Penn State. Getting him on campus this summer either for a camp or just a visit will be important for a couple of reasons. The entire PSU staff will be able to see him in person. And he will be able to learn more about new coordinator Joe Moorhead’s offense
