Maryland, Virginia Tech and Michigan State are still Jordan's top three schools. Clemson and Syracuse are also "in there". Each of his favorites has offered him a scholarship to play quarterback.
"I just got back from Maryland," Jordan said late Sunday evening. "I went last Tuesday when they started practice. I've been down to Maryland probably 5 times."
Steffy also made a lengthy road trip in June to check out several schools.
"We went from West Virginia to Virginia to Virginia Tech to UNC to Duke to Clemson to Indiana to Purdue and to Michigan State. That was like a 2-week trip. We left on June 17 and got back the end of June."
Steffy also attended Nike Camps at both Penn State (April) and Virginia Tech (May).
In light of the fact that some of his favorites, namely Maryland and Virginia Tech, are putting some pressure on him to make a decision soon, does Jordan see himself making an announcement in the near future?
"I'd like to commit as soon as possible, but I think I'm going to take some official visits. I think I'm going up to the Michigan State/Michigan game, which is at Michigan State, I'm probably going to go down to Maryland for an official, Virginia Tech for an official, and I'm not sure about any other officials as of now."
Penn State had been recruiting Jordan, but as a wide-receiver. Now that Penn State's number one target at quarterback, Chad Henne, announced last Thursday that he plans to sign with Michigan in February, Nittany Lion fans are wondering as to whom the Nittany Lion coaching staff will turn its' affection. Would Jordan be interested in Penn State if they picked up their recruitment of him and recruited him to play quarterback?
"Most likely not," Jordan admitted. "All along I haven't really had interest in Penn State, even growing up. I never really looked at that university and thought, 'Oh, I definitely want to go there' or anything like that. So, it's just Maryland, Virginia Tech, Michigan State, Clemson and Syracuse. All of them have been in it from the beginning and they were all real loyal and I respect that also."
Could his interest level in Penn State change?
"The only positives would be the location, how it's so close and just having everyone from around here being Penn State fans, but as of now, I don't see myself at Penn State."
