Florida WR Edwards Likes Penn State Offense

But will he have a chance to visit Happy Valley this summer? We give you the latest.

The recruitment of Florida Class of 2017 receiver D.J. Edwards has begun to take off now that he is projected as an academic qualifier. He now holds 20 offers, including one from Penn State.

Nittany Lion offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead recently stopped by Palm Beach Lakes High for an evaluation visit.

"Coach Moorhead came down to my school,” Edwards said. “I know his offense is a spread offense and it's fast paced. I feel like his offense and the way I play on the field is a good fit. I really like his offense."

Edwards said he would like to visit Penn State but that he has yet to schedule the trip.

Back in mid-April, Edwards said he was close to committing to Kentucky. But things have changes drastically since then.

"No favorites anymore,” he said. “My recruitment is wide open."

Loney's Take: Penn State’s chances look pretty good now and will only get better if he takes a visit. But the heavy hitters in Florida have yet to enter the mix.
