4-Star QB Sean Clifford From Week One

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Even though his St. Xavier team was blown out by visiting St. John Bosco last weekend, Penn State quarterback commit Sean Clifford did some nice things before being injured. Here are clips of Clifford prior to him leaving the game with an injury.

Evaluation Notes:

You will probably never again see a highlight clip of a quarterback in a blowout loss ever again, but Sean Clifford did his part last Saturday. He was let down by his offensive line and there were key drops by his wideouts, but Clifford showed why he is a four-star prospect. St. Xavier wanted to run Clifford a lot, which they did. They also wanted to throw short passes early, to open up the downfield passing game, but poor pass protection and a few drops ended that. Clifford is physically stronger this year, and is still a highly accurate thrower. His team was over-matched last weekend, but he wasn't. He has a chance to be a multi-year starter for Penn State.
