Penn State's Big Toe Makes A Big Hit

Check out Nittany Lion kicker Joey Julius wiping out a return man in PSU's win over Kent State.

Penn State kicker Joey Julius missed time in the offseason while dealing with an undisclosed personal problem.

But the "Big Toe" made a triumphant return to the program in the preseason, emerging as a kickoff specialist. And that carried over into the 2016 season-opener vs. Kent State at Beaver Stadium Saturday.

The 250-plus-pound Julius blasted six kickoffs into the end zone for what became touchbacks. And on the one kick Kent State's Kavious Price did return, Julius de-cleated him right in front of the PSU sideline. His teammates went nuts. Fans in the stands followed suit when they saw the replay.

Above, you can see what PSU coach James Franklin and several of Julius' teammates had to say about the big hit.
