PSU Football Recruiting Weekly News & Notes

FightOnState.com scours the Scout.com network and social media for recruiting tidbits related to the Nittany Lions. See what's been cooking.

It's been a couple of weeks since our last wrap-up, so let's get right to it!

PENN STATE VS. PITT GAME VISITORS

There will be several Penn State targets in the 2017 and 2018 class attending the game between Penn State and Pitt this weekend at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Here's a list of some of those players who plan on attending the game.

2018 4-STAR DB REITERATES LOVE FOR PENN STATE

National Recruiting Analyst Brian Dohn talked with 4-star DB Isheem Young about Penn State and his recent offer from Ohio State.  As I mentioned in a previous update, Penn State is in a much better spot to land Young now than they were a month or so ago.  With Young's preference to stay close to home, that makes the Nittany Lions a major player once again in his recruitment.

According to Patrick Loney of FOS, 3-star WR Mac Hippenhammer will take his official visit to Penn State on October 22nd and will take an unofficial visit to Penn State when the Nittany Lions play Iowa on November 5th.

PENN STATE COMMITT HIGHLIGHT REEL FOR THIS WEEK

Just in case you missed it........here it is!

LIVE-GAME EVALUATIONS THIS WEEKEND OF A COUPLE OF PENN-STATE TARGETS AND ONE PENN STATE COMMIT

I plan on attending a couple of games this weekend that will involve a couple of Penn State targets and one commit this upcoming weekend.

On Friday, I'll be watching DeMatha (MD) take on Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg, PA) in a game that probably should've been played last year when Bishop McDevitt had more talent.

DeMatha's Penn State Target

In an interview with Terrapin Times (early August of this year), Morgan named Maryland and Penn State as his leaders so far in his recruitment.

Highlights from his last game:

DeMatha player with high interest in Penn State

2018 cornerback Naim Muhammad recently received his first Big Ten offer from Purdue (currently has two, his other one being from Morgan State).

Muhammad may be a name to keep an eye out for in the future due to the fact that he has very high interest in Penn State.  Time will tell whether or not the feeling is mutual from the Penn State coaching staff.

On Saturday, I'll be watching Harrisburg High School (PA) take on Reading High School (PA) in a home game this Saturday.  Harrisburg features Penn State commit Damion Barber and his teammate Shaquon Anderson-Butts. Anderson-Butts has not named any favorites but Penn State is a major player in his recruitment.
