FOS PODCAST: Recruiting Talk With Josh Gattis

The Nittany Lions' offensive recruiting coordinator on hitting the road on Friday nights, recruiting for future classes, de-commitments and more.

Penn State assistant Josh Gattis has the twin roles of receivers coach and offensive recruiting coordinator.

So, as you might imagine, during a conference call with reporters Thursday morning, Gattis spent a fair amount of time talking recruiting.

You can hear him address topics such as the staff hitting the road on Friday nights during the season, recruiting for future classes (all the way to 2020), the challenges of dealing with de-commitments, and when the Nittany Lions actually top recruiting prospects who commit to other schools. (A hint on the last one: It is at the same time other schools stop recruiting prospects who have committed to PSU.)

Gattis was also asked a question that included the names of specific recruits, and — clearly knowing he could have drawn the wrath of the NCAA if he mentioned them by name in his answer — he still managed to deftly make a point.

You can hear it all in the FOS Podcast.
