Penn State linebacker Nyeem Wartman-White went down with an unspecified injury to his left leg in the first half of the Nittany Lions' 34-27 win over Temple Saturday.
In the second half, he was spotted on the sideline on crutches.
At his weekly press conference Tuesday, PSU head coach James Franklin announced that Wartman-White has been lost for the season. He did not specify what the injury is.
It is a tough break for Wartman-White, who missed all but one game in 2015 with a right knee injury.
"I feel terrible for Nyeem Wartman-White, he'll be out for the season,” Franklin said, "It is obviously significant for Nyeem, because he's had two years in a row now that he's missing the season. He's worked really, really hard and has had an unbelievable attitude.”
Franklin said no decision has been made on whether Wartman-White, a fifth-year senior, will seek a sixth season of eligibility.
