Penn State OT Nelson Out For Season

The Nittany Lions received some tough news out of their big 38-14 win over Maryland, as their most experienced offensive lineman sustained a season-ending injury.

Penn State's big 38-14 win over Maryland at Beaver Stadium Saturday came with some bad news.

Junior right offensive tackle Andrew Nelson left the game in the second quarter with what appeared to be a right leg injury. He was taken from the field on a cart and did not return.

While PSU does not give details on injuries, after the game head coach James Franklin said Nelson has been lost for the season.

"It looks like we lost Nelly for the season … I'm pretty confident in that," Franklin said. "I feel for Nelly, love that kid. We'll be with him every step of the way."

With Nelson out, LT Brendan Mahon moved to RT and 2016 starter Paris Palmer moved in at LT.

Even without Nelson, Lions finished with 524 yards of total offense.
