Penn State has a bye week but does not.  Here’s a look at some of the happenings with Penn State recruiting within the past seven days.

Head Coach James Franklin on the recruiting trail

Penn State head football coach James Franklin will be attending the Central Dauphin vs. Harrisburg High School game that's taking place this weekend in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  Franklin will be watching two commits, 2018 defensive Micah Parsons and 2017 defensive end Damion Barber, and 2018 wide receiver target Shaquon Anderson-Butts.

Note: Coach Franklin informed us that he will now not be able to attend the game this weekend.

CLASS OF 2019 Antonio Alfano

Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic defensive tackle Antonio Alfano, a four-star in the 2019 class, recaps his Penn State visit.

Nittany Lions offer a couple of 2018 prospects within past week

A couple of 2018 prospects received offers from the Penn State coaching staff within the past several days.

Penn State was the first FBS school to offer 2018 cornerback Jordan Miner out of Florida.  Miner had some very interesting things to say when he spoke with Scout's Corey Bender.

Checking in with 3-star 2018 QB Quincy Patterson

3-star QB Quincy Patterson (Solorio Academy, IL) has not been able to attend a Penn State game yet this season, but that doesn't mean he hasn't been in contact with the coaching staff. Ohio State game visitors has confirmed that Penn State commit Micah Parsons will take an unofficial visit to Penn State when they play Ohio State on October 22.  Also confirmed is five-star defensive back Lamont Wade.  It will be an unofficial visit for Wade as his official visit will take place on November 5 when Penn State faces Iowa in a home game at Beaver Stadium.  2019 Pottstown High School (PA) running back Treyson Potts will also be in attendance.
