COMMENT: Penn State has gained some confidence the last few weeks. But the varied and dynamic rushing attack of the Buckeyes will expose the inexperience on defense. Trace McSorley will attack a very average Ohio State secondary, but it just won't be enough for the home crowd.
PREDICTION: Ohio State 34, Penn State 24
Scott Cole (PSU96)
COMMENT: Ohio State has won an astounding 20 consecutive road games, and there's no reason to think it won't be 21 after Saturday. The Buckeyes ooze elite athleticism all over the field. Their defense has a good chance of stifling a Penn State offense still finding its footing in the new scheme. The best hope is for Penn State to keep it close into halftime so that the crowd can remain a factor in the second half.
PREDICTION: Ohio State 45, Penn State 13
COMMENT: Similar to the Michigan game, this is a bad matchup for PSU. This defense struggles with mobile QBs and these struggles are more pronounced when the mobile QB is surrounded by explosive athletes. The White Out night game crowd will help, but the Buckeyes are too talented and too deep.
PREDICTION: Ohio State 38, Penn State 17

COMMENT: Penn State's on an upswing, but the talent gap between the Lions and Buckeyes is still significant. Toss in the fact PSU is still shoring up spots from injuries and this will prove to be a tall order for the Nits. The fact it's a White Out home game helps, but not enough. Penn State will have to show significant strides in blocking and tackling in this one to keep pace. I expect the offense will find some success with a balanced attack, but keeping stride for stride with OSU will be tough.
PREDICTION: Ohio State 35, Penn State 24

COMMENT: Penn State remains banged up on the defensive side of the ball, and the loss of Andrew Nelson at tackle on offense will hurt more than anticipated. The Buckeyes just have too much firepower on both sides.
PREDICTION: Ohio State 55, Penn State 13
Keith "Goon" Conlin (KeithConlin)
COMMENT: Prove me wrong again, boys. The problems up front with the loss of Nelson scare me. They should really scare McSorley. OSU has some studs on both sides. Limit big plays and don't turn ball over, and PSU can stay in it.
PREDICTION: Ohio State 34, Penn State 17
Tom Hoffman (underscoreTom)
COMMENT: Penn State has seemingly hit its stride the past couple games and could get some linebackers healthy again. However, it won't be nearly enough to defeat the Buckeyes. The White Out may make things interesting for a half.
PREDICTION: Ohio State 42, Penn State 21
Scott Neal (PSUMtnBike)
COMMENT: Penn State is improving but doesn't have the horses up front nor the linebackers to slow down a program of Ohio State's caliber. While anything is possible, I would chalk this up as a moral victory if the Lions are competitive and escape healthy. Defensive game plan: Sell out stopping the run with a spy or two on Barrett and contain the play between the tackles (set the edge). Constantly remind the officials that the Buckeye line is holding/tackling on every play. Sneak a 12th man in there. Offensive game plan: Ohio State is three deep in talent, so conserve energy and use the entire play clock. Take note of opponent and hold/tackle defenders on every single play. Run right at their speed between the tackles with no dancing in the hole. Offset that with misdirection, rollouts and a few direct snaps to Barkley. Slide McSorely, slide.
PREDICTION: Ohio State 34, Penn State 16

COMMENT: The last time out Penn State faced an undefeated team. This week the Lions get to do so again. That is where the similarities end. The Buckeyes bear no resemblance to Maryland, and Ohio State will be well prepared to handle a Penn State White Out (which will be silenced early). This game is as close to a lock as you can find. Bet on it.
PREDICTION: Ohio State 44, Penn State 10
Mark Brennan (MarkBrennan)
COMMENT: The Big Ten schedule-makers did the Buckeyes no favors in this little stretch, where they’re being forced to travel to Wisconsin and Penn State for night games in consecutive weeks (with both opponents coming off byes). OSU gritted out a 30-23 OT win against the Badgers, but it was a long, physical affair that saw Bucky run 74 plays for 450 yards. I like how this sets up for the Lions — not to win but to easily cover the opening line of 20 points and keep things interesting into the final quarter.
PREDICTION: Ohio State 37, Penn State 24
COMMENT: No doubt Ohio State is very talented and has athletes everywhere. I think we may match up a little better than we did against Michigan. That was early in the year and the Wolverines were a senior-dominated team. We are a much better offensive team than we were against Michigan, with McSorley now a running threat. We have a puncher’s chance. With that said, we still have major injury issues. So we keep it close for a while and then Ohio State wears us down in the second half.
