Things looked dicey at the half. But a 38-point win is a 38-point win.
Impressive how Joe Moorhead’s group has improved from the start of the season AND so often from the first half to the second half of most games.
It looked like it was going to be a long day, but then the D turned in a pivotal play that pretty much doomed the Boilermakers.
Another huge takeway from this crew. But some more mistakes in the form of a duck punt, a kickoff out of bounds and a penalty that wiped out a nice return.
All three phases seem to be making strong halftime adjustments now.
The Lions never looked flustered, even when they were not playing particularly well. There was a sense of, “We’ve got this.”
This team has been through a lot this season, and played with lots of heart in the first half.
The flags were flying (there were 19 penalties in all). But most of them seemed legit.
Man, is this a basketball town or what? The crowd was listed at 33,157 but we’re guessing it was about 10,000 fewer than that. Roads around Ross-Ade Stadium were empty shortly before kick.
