One of the top 2018 defensive back prospects in the state of Ohio is Lakewood St. Edward's Michael Dowell, and the junior can play either safety or cornerback for his high school.
Dowell is the younger brother of Michigan State players Andrew and David Dowell, so the bloodlines are strong for the junior.
With six offers to date, including Duke, Kentucky and Michigan State, Dowell has caught the attention of college recruiters. Could Penn State be the next Power Five school to offer?
"I've been talking to Penn State a lot lately, and I'm going to be visiting there in two weeks for their game with Michigan State," Dowell stated. "I'm being recruited by Terry Smith, and we have a real good relationship."
"They have invited me to every home game this year and Penn State sends me stuff every week about their program, so I'm very interested in them," he added. "I watched their game when they knocked off Ohio State, and I was really impressed."
"I have been to Penn State before when they were recruiting my brothers, but it will be good to go as a recruit myself," he continued.
