Tyler Davis Honored by Big Ten

Penn State junior kicker Tyler Davis named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week for his masterful performance against Rutgers.

Tyler Davis came up huge for Penn State against Rutgers in spite of some horrible weather conditions marked by wind, rain and cold. The junior went 4-for-4  with field goals and 3-for-3 on extra points against the Scarlett Knights.

For the performance the Big Ten conference named him the Special Teams Player of the Week along with Iowa's Riley McCarron.

His four field goals in the primetime contest set a career high for Davis and his 15 points in the game were also a personal career high. Davis is currently tied for sixth place in the Nittany Lions' single season field goal ranks, tied with @Travis Forney, Kevin Kelly and Collin Wagner. In terms of all-time field goals for the Blue and White, Davis is currently ranked 13th with 28 field goals.
