PSU Fans Name OSU FG Block Play of the Year

Nittany Lion fans name epic field goal block/touchdown return that helped Penn State beat Ohio State the 2016 Play of the Year.

This past season has been landmark for Penn State football. While many around the college football world point to the 2016 season as the indicator that the Nittany Lions are "back" among the premier programs nationally given the squad's Big Ten championship, there have a series of milestone moments in the form of memorable plays from this year that were instrumental in making that return possible.

Nittany Lion fans have named the blocked field goal by Marcus Allen that was returned by Grant Haleyfor the go-ahead score against Ohio State as the 2016 Play of the Year.

The epic moment against the Buckeyes ran away with the voting in similar fashion to how Haley ran away with Ohio State's hope in that game, receiving 62 percent of the fan vote. Coming in second was Trace McSorley's 26-yard scramble in the fourth quarter that helped Penn State comeback to beat Minnesota, a game that kicked off the team's current nine-game winning streak. McSorley's run received 17 percent of the fan vote.
