Penn State is the latest to offer rising 2019 athlete Ronnie Hickman out of New Jersey.
CLEEZY'S QUICK TAKE: It's early in Hickman's recruitment, but here's a kid who could play wide receiver on offense and either safety or cornerback on defense. Offensively, Hickman caught 25 passes for 504 yards and four touchdowns during the 2016 season. Hickman already displays better-than-average route-running skills at this stage of development, especially when he goes against press coverage. Defensively, Hickman's instincts and great ball skills stand out. Hickman, who is very physical against the run from his cornerback position, shows no fear when coming up to make tackles.
It's too early to tell where he ultimately ends up once he gets to college, but judging from film and his early offers, it's clear that he's on his way to becoming one of the elite players in the East Region's 2019 class.
NOTE: Hickman is currently a lacrosse commit for Rutgers.
