FOS previews the Big Ten Tournament match-up between Penn State and Nebraska

The Big Ten Tournament starts Wednesday at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.



Penn State Nittany Lions 

Points- Tony Carr - 13.2 points per game, 39% shooting percentage

Rebounds - Mike Watkins - 8.1 rebounds per game (5.6 defensive rebounds per game, 2.5 offensive rebounds per game)

Assists - Tony Carr - 4.2 assists per game

Nebraska Huskers  

Points- Tai Webster - 17.2 points per game, 43% shooting percentage

Rebounds - Ed Morrow - 7.4 rebounds per game (4.2defensive rebounds per game, 3.2 offensive rebounds per game)

The Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament kicks off on Mar. 8 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.  One of the match-ups will feature No. 13 Penn State vs. No. 12 Nebraska.  The game is scheduled to tip-off at 4:30 p.m. (E.S.T.).

Penn State finished with an overall record of 14-17 (6-12 in conference).  Nebraska finished with an overall record of 12-18 (6-12 in conference).  Both teams are on losing streaks coming into the Big Ten Tournament.  Penn State has lost its last five games while Nebraska has lost their last four games.

Nebraska defeated Penn State 82-66 at home back on Feb.14 to snap a two-game winning streak that the Nittany Lions had going into the game.  Penn State kept the game close in the first half before Nebraska eventually pulled away in the second half.

The winner of this match-up will take on Michigan State in the next round of the Big Ten Tournament.
