One of New Jersey’s rising prospects in the 2018 class took an unofficial visit to Penn State earlier this week. Jayson Oweh, a defensive end/tight end out of Blair Academy (Blairstown, NJ), took his first college visit of the spring by making a stop in Happy Valley. Oweh currently has several offers that include Rutgers, Wisconsin, Virginia, Syracuse, Louisville and Boston College. Oweh didn’t come away from the visit with an offer from Penn State but had good things to say about the visit and the program when he talked with Scarlet Report’s Sam Hellman.
“Penn State was great,” Oweh said. “It was very impressive. It’s big-time stuff at Penn State. Coach Franklin gave us a presentation of what the school is about. It’s more than football. They rank high in a lot of stuff across the nation. I hung out with the defensive end coach and looked at some tape of how they play on defense and toured around the campus.”
Oweh told Hellman that he had to leave campus before he saw a practice but will be back before the end of spring.
