No. 10 Penn State men's lacrosse (12-2, 3-2 B1G) closed out its regular season on the road with a victory over Michigan (8-6, 0-5 B1G) on Sunday. With the 17-13 victory, the Nittany Lions matched their season-best win total with 12, a number the 2013 squad also posted. PSU's 17 goals is the most ever scored in a Big Ten conference game by the Lions.
Senior captain, Nick Aponte, posted a record-setting nine-point performance, scoring five goals along with four assists in the contest, breaking the PSU record for goals and points in the conference contest.
Freshman Mac O'Keefe (pictured above) also had a record performance in the game with his four goals, which helped him break the PSU record for single-season goals at 46. Senior midfielder, Dan Craig, was also instrumental in the win, scoring his third career hat trick with an assist against the Wolverines.
Next up, the Nittany Lions head to the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 4 seed. They will face the No. 1 seed Maryland on Thursday, May 4 at 5 pm in Columbus, Ohio. The game will be aired live on Big Ten Network.
