Penn State Wrestling Lands Another Top 5 Prospect

Penn State wrestling recruiting rolls on as the Nittany Lions receive a commitment from another top national prospect; this time from Pennsylvania's Michael Beard.

The Nittany Lions' wrestling squad continues to roll on the recruiting front. This time Cael Sanderson received a commitment from Michael Beard, considered the No. 5 wrestler nationally by FloWrestling. Originally, Beard was committed to Northwestern and opted to decommit from the Wildcats this past March.

The Malvern Prep wrestler is no stranger to success, winning the National Prep 195-pound title and placing second in the 2016 Cadet Freestyle National event. He also won the Gold Medal in 2016 at the Pan-Am Cadet Games in Peru last year.

Beard is the type of wrestler Sanderson tends to like with an aggressive, offensive style that looks to pile up points against opponents. His pledge to Penn State bolsters an already impressive recruiting class which now features the No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 10 wrestling prospects nationally.
