PSU Interested in New Jersey FS

Lance Evans was rumored at one time to have committed to Penn State, but that has not yet been the case. He is a big free-safety prospect, and is good friends with Adam Taliaferro, who went to his high school.

Name: Lance Evans
Position: FS, SE (a third of the time)
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 200 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.6 seconds
School: Eastern Regional High, Voorhees, New Jersey
Offers: Penn State, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Boston College, Syracuse, Temple and Iowa

North Carolina, Virginia and NC State are also interested in Lance as well.

After 4 games this year, Lance had 22 unassisted tackles, 11 assisted, 2 pass breakups, a fumble caused and 2 interceptions.

"I'm going to say at 6-5, 200, he's probably going to grow into a 230 kid," his head coach, Dan Spittal, said.  "That probably means he may either play free safety or outside linebacker.  I think most people are looking at him as a free safety and then if he grows, they can move him to an outside linebacker spot."

Brian Norwood is recruiting him for Penn State.  Lance was very interested in Penn State, but it appears that he is checking out several other schools as well.

"I thought he was going to commit early to Penn State this summer, but for whatever reason he didn't," Coach Spittal said.

He has not taken any official visits yet.  He has been to Penn State a few times, including once for the Miami game.
