PA WR Talks About Penn State

Maurice Stovall, from Radnor, PA, is one of the best wide-receiver prospects in the country. He has great size, excellent speed and a good pair of hands, basically everything you would want in a receiver.

Name: Maurice Stovall
Position: WR / FS / PR / KR
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 208 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.35
School: Archbishop Carroll, Radnor, PA
Offers: around 15

Maurice is having a very good season, helping his team to a record of 7-1.  According to Maurice, he has 7 interceptions, 3 for touchdowns, 3 punt returns for touchdowns, and 23 catches for 599 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Right now, Maurice's top 5 teams are Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Virginia, Tennessee and Michigan.  Those are in order.  He has already set up official visits to Michigan, Virginia and Georgia Tech.  He has not yet made a final decision as to which other teams he will visit officially.  He has already unofficially visited North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Maryland and Notre Dame.  He did not attend any camps this summer.

"I'm still considering Maryland," Maurice said.  "Not Virginia Tech as much anymore, because they're mostly a running team.  Virginia Tech is starting to be out of the picture.  I'm still keeping an eye on Maryland."

The Nittany Lions have offered Maurice, but he is not interested in attending Penn State.

"That's correct," he said.  "I'm not interested in Penn State."

Of course, the obvious follow-up question is 'Why not?'.

"They're basically a run-school I guess, nothing in particular.  It's just that I'm not as interested as I am in the top 5 schools that I listed.  Those are basically the schools that I am concentrating on now.  Also, I want to be away from home.  I want to get out of the state, get away from home, that's another thing."

Maurice did grow up watching the Nittany Lions, and has visited the campus.

"Because Penn State was the home team, I guess I did like Penn State as a little kid.  I have been to one of their games, it was last year.  I got an invitation to it.  I think it was against Michigan State.

Maurice is looking for "a good program academically and athletically, with good support, a good coaching staff, and a team that throws the ball, a well-balanced offense".
