NC TE Aaron Kirkland

Penn State has recognized Aaron Kirland as a major talent at the tight-end position. Will he take an official visit to Happy Valley?

Name: Aaron Kirkland
Position: TE / DE
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 250 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.8
Bench Press: 330 pounds
School: Jack Britt High School, Fayetteville, NC

"Our season is over.  We finished 7-4, but we lost the last 3 games," Aaron said.

Aaron has not yet taken any his official visits, but he has set up a few.

"I have official visits scheduled to Michigan on December 1, and to Tennessee on January 11.  I'm also considering UNC, Clemson, Florida State, that's about it.  Those are the only 3."

According to Aaron, Penn State is recruiting him as a TE, and has given him a written scholarship offer.

"Yes they did, I don't remember the exact date.  I have about 7 offers, Michigan, Tennessee, UNC, Clemson, ECU, Florida State and Penn State."

Aaron has never been to Penn State, but says the Nittany Lions are not out of the running just yet.

"Yes, I am still considering Penn State.  I really don't know much about Penn State, just their history and stuff.  They have a good coach, Joe Paterno.

"I'm going to check them out. I'm not sure if I'll take a visit there or not, but that's one of the schools that I'm considering taking an official visit to."

Aaron knows Calvin Lowry, the WR/DB, also from North Carolina, that has already verbally committed to the Nittany Lions.

"I used to play football with him 2 years ago at Douglas Byrd."

However, according to Aaron, Calvin has not called him since he decided to verbal to Penn State.

Havning the opportunity for playing time early in his collegiate career is important to Aaron.

"I'm looking for early playing time, somewhere I can spend then next 4 years or however many years I plan to stay there, and enjoy where I'm at."
