BBall Team Inks 3rd Player to Letter of Intent

State College, Pa. - November 20, 2001 - The Penn State Nittany Lion basketball team received its third National Letter of Intent today, this one from Indiana native Brandon Cameron.

Cameron's signing gives Penn State three official commitments in the early signing period.

Cameron is a 6-0 point guard from Gary, Ind., where he plays high school ball at West Side High School. He comes from a basketball rich tradition at WSHS where he averaged 18.0 points per game on the No. 2 ranked team in the state of Indiana last year. This year's WSHS squad enters the season with a pre-season ranking of No. 2 as well.

The talented guard was a first team Junior All-State selection in Indiana last year and was a first team All-Area pick as well. An outstanding student, Cameron sports a 3.4 grade point average and is a member of the National Honor Society. Over the summer, Cameron competed in the prestigious ABCD and Nike Peach Jam camps.

"Brandon is a very good and tough point guard on both ends of the floor," Dunn said in describing Cameron. "We are elated to have him as part of our basketball family."

Cameron joins two other signees whose letters arrived yesterday, giving Penn State three signed National Letters of Intent. For information on yesterday's signings, see the release on
