Name: James McDonald
Position: WR
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 185 pounds
40-Yard dash: 4.6 seconds
School: Dunbar HS, Washington, DC

James did not participate in either of Penn State's two junior days this past weekend, but he did attend Saturday's Nike Camp in State College.

"I think I did well in the drills," James said when asked how he did at the camp. "I don't think I did well in the 40 [yard dash] or the vertical."

Did he scratch his results?

"No, I didn't know I could scratch them. I ran a 4.6 [40-yard dash]. I didn't participate in the shuttle."

Does he have any favorites?

"Yeah, Penn State, Pittsburgh and Maryland are my top 3, most definitely. I like Notre Dame, North Carolina State, and Mississippi State, so there are a lot of schools out there.

"I'm trying to narrow it down to my top 10 right now, and try to get down to the top 3 by the end of the summer."

Maryland is the only team in his top 3 that has not yet offered. The Nittany Lions, who were first to tender James a written scholarship offer, are his current favorite.

"Yeah, they have an edge, they have an edge. I'd say they're number one right now."

Larry Johnson and Mike McQueary are the PSU coaches with whom James maintains contact.
