Tim Shaw Update

Tim Shaw would be a tremendous addition to the Nittany Lions, who are in desperate need for LB help. Penn State has been going hard after the star LB/RB.

Name: Tim Shaw
Position: LB / RB
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 220 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.44 (Michigan Nike camp), 4.61 (Michigan camp - electronic), 4.43 (PSU camp)
School: Clarenceville High in Livonia, Michigan

"We just lost the State Championship on Saturday," Tim said.  "We lost to Jackson Luman Christi 49-0.  We finished the season 13-1."

Tim finished up his career as the Michigan state record holder for both career touchdowns and rushing yardage.  He also owns the state single season touchdown record.

Tim is set to take an official visit to Stanford on December 8.

"That's the only one so far.  I'm just trying to decide where I want to go.  I'll visit Penn State for sure.  For the others, I'm choosing between Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue and Boston College really.  I'm going to take all 5 visits.

"Nebraska just offered me last week, but I don't know if that puts them in there or not.  I'm not sure.  They haven't shown enough interest for me to just go jump on them."

A failure to show a whole lot if interest in Tim early was one of the reasons that Michigan was not among Tim's top 2 teams a month ago.  Penn State and Michigan State were the top 2 teams then.  Apparently, Michigan has gotten themselves back in the running.

"Michigan's up there now."

Tim's top teams now are Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State.  He does not list those in any particular order.

"I don't know, it doesn't really matter.  They're all up there.  It's just tough to call right now."

He might not take an official visit to Michigan or Michigan State because the schools are so close.  Michigan is about a half-hour from Tim's home, and Michigan State is about an hour away.

"And plus, I've just been there so many times already, to each.  I want to.  I guess I'm just trying to decide if I should just take one out or not."

Tim could play either LB or RB at the next level.  He does not have a preference.

"All the schools have said either [LB or RB].  Penn State wants me as a LB.  They said that I can do whatever I want, but they really want me as a LB.  Michigan wants as a RB, Michigan State wants me as a RB and Purdue wants me as a LB.  Michigan is thinking of me more as a FB."

Tim has not taken many unofficial visits this month.

"Not recently, because we've had playoffs.  I did go to the Michigan / Michigan State game."

Now that his season is over, Tim can now concentrate on setting up the remainder of his official visits.
