Iowa LB Names a Favorite

Last week, LionNews updated the status of Iowa linebacker Pat Angerer, who recently attended PSU's summer camp and came away with what the Nittany Lions football program and Penn State University had to offer. But he had not yet been offered himself. Have the Nittany Lions contacted Pat to explain the status with his recruitment?

Name: Pat Angerer
Position: OLB
Height: 6'0.5"
Weight: 202 pounds
40 Speed: 4.5 seconds
Hometown/School: Bettendorf, Ia. (Bettendorf HS)

"I talked to (graduate assistant) Coach (Chris) Achuff and he told me Coach Paterno didn't want to talk about recruiting until after his vacation, so I think I'll know by the 19th (July) or the end of the month," explained Pat.

Although football is his first love, for the first time, Pat has expressed an interest in participating in another sport at the collegiate level.

"My dodge ball team won. Yeah, I think I might go to college for that," joked Pat, whose 4.46 forty speed should help him avoid the thunderous throws of Globo Gym's Purple Cobras star hurler, White Goodman.

While he tried to mame others with an orange ball of fury, a leader emerged for Angerer.

"Iowa State's probably my favorite now. But any school that offers me, I'm going to take into serious consideration," said Pat, who still holds offers from Iowa State, Iowa, Indiana, and Northern Illinois but will not visit anymore colleges this summer. "I'm just going to take all of my official visits after my senior year."
