"Recently, I visited Georgia for an overnight camp. Before Georgia, my cousin went down to Penn State [for football camp] so I went with him and took a little look. I saw the coaches and stuff for about a half hour," said Kade, who visited the Nittany Lions in June and the Dawgs in July.
On his trip to Penn State, the 6'5'', 300 defensive tackle talked with coach Larry Johnson and coach Bill Kenney. Although he estimated that he has been to Penn State three other times (for camps), on this visit Kade got to tour the locker room and the equipment room for the first time.
While he was somewhat familiar with the Penn State program, Kade's visit to Georgia was his first and proved to be an eye-opening experience.
"It was nice -- the players were nice, the coaches, everyone was nice. Nice program down there," said Kade.
The recipient of 19 written and 5 verbal offers, do any schools really standout in his mind?
"Georgia," stated Kade point blank, "I don't have a number one but they standout."
Although he does not have a top 5, besides the Bulldogs, what other schools are on his mind?
"Maryland a little bit with Florida, Tennessee, and Miami."
Do the Nittany Lions rank any where in his favorites?
"I don't know. I haven't made a list. In the beginning of August, that's probably when I'll have my list," explained Kade, who has no more unofficial visits or official visits planned. "[Penn State's] a nice area, nice school. I know they had a good program, but the program's been going down. Coach Johnson and all of the coaches have been nice to me. Like I said, the schools that I gave you were not really my top five, they were just schools I listed [off the top of my head]."
Weston will cut the schools he is looking at down to eight next month but said he won't make a final decision until he has taken all five of his official visits.
