"I have one planned at Penn State, but it's not definite what date I'm taking it on," said Dennis Landolt, a 6'5'', 275 pound offensive lineman from Delran, Nj. (Holy Cross HS), about his only current pending official visit.
"I'll probably go up for a game on a Saturday and Sunday, so I think
it's going to be September 17th (against Central Florida)
Dennis has 11 written offers and seems content with the schools he has
narrowed himself down to at this point.
"I'm considering seven or eight of them -- Penn State, Virginia Tech,
Boston College, Rutgers, Syracuse, Michigan State."
The last time LionNews spoke with Dennis, the Nittany Lions held the
lead over the rest of the field. Does Penn State still stand at
#1 above the rest?
"Yes," Dennis asserted, adding Virginia Tech was a close second.
With Penn State his only set official visit, will he have a decision
sometime in the near future?
"I'm not sure. I might do it early in my season or after a few
visits," said Dennis, who was unsure of how many visits he would
take. "I plan on scheduling, maybe, two more [official visits]."
Although he still seems in the process of deciding and scheduling
official visits, Dennis took a couple recent unofficial visits?
"I was at Boston College a few weeks ago and I went to a practice at
Penn State (August 14th) and Rutgers last week."
How did the Penn State team look during their practice session?
"From what I saw, the team looked good. I like the way practice
went and everything. I watched the lineman. I got to see
the o-line and the d-line do the drills and I saw them do pass rush and
stuff like that."
That unofficial visit was Dennis' third to Penn State. He visited
Happy Valley during the Nike Camp in May, as well as unofficial visits
during June and August.
Has the Penn State staff put any pressure on him to commit to them?
"Somewhat, but not too heavily," said Dennis, who's being recruited as a
Dennis' Holy Cross HS team will kick off their season on September 10th.
